H,i two days ago marked our 5th Month Anniversary. I'm wondering where the time has gone. Wish he were here though. Still working on the papers over there. Here's a pic of the King of my Heart from a few weeks ago when he was working in Alexandria.
My husband has been working so much that he hasn't been able to get much time off to get the sponsorship papers done, but he will. I can't wait to have him finally here. I miss him terribly all the time. He was in Alexandria last week and was supposed to come back on Saturday. I haven't heard from him since. I hope he is alright and the trip went well. Maybe his internet is down.
I'm off for two days. I hope to play on my synthesizer and write some poetry today, just want to take it easy.
I've also been searching for a new job and I hope I get one soon, cause I'm tired and frustrated with how things are going at my current job.
Anyhow, I hope everyone is doing fine and that the summer is treating them well.
Thanks for dropping by.

Hi folks,
Yesterday was our first month anniversary. Too bad we had to share it apart, but that's ok. Last week I sent some immigration papers to him, so we are working our way to being together.

I'm still on vacation time, so I've been working on finding a new job, fixing my space at home and working on myself. Things are good and I can't complain much other than the lack of sleep and lack of husband.
Hope everything is going well with you.

It was a hectic time in Cairo. The first thing we had to do was go to the Embassy to get an affidavit claiming that I am able to get married with the showing of my Passport. My parents and Ahmed came with me and I filled the form out in English while Ahmed filled it in Arabic. We paid and submitted the form and the lady behind the glass said to come back with our receipt the next day. We didn't go until two days later to pick the paper. We had to get it stamped and autorized at a smoky office but Ahmed somehow got it down without waiting in line. Then we got all the papers photocopied: Passport pages, ID, and the affidavit. We went to the Ministry of Justice from there. When we got to the front of the building some man said to Ahmed, Congrats and go to the 4th floor...did everyone who was going there, only going there to get married, or what?! We waited for my parents and Ahmed's two close friends who were going to be our witnesses. When they came, we took the stairs as the elevator looked like it was going to be full. There was a sign posted saying we were not allowed to have cell phones or cameras. We only wore our regular everyday clothing and the place was grungy and smokey...yuk! I don't know how long we waited but it felt like 2 hours or so in total. Then they called Ahmed's name so we went, to one office where we had one guy process some paperwork for us. After that we went to another office. From there we went back into the waiting room to wait once more. Then we were called again and went to one office getting moved around from desk to desk, 3 desks....one to process our folder, another to pay a fee and the last one to sign the license, and get thumb-printed. Then we were declared married and I turned to Ahmed and said, "Congratulations." Everyone laughed and said, "Mabrook" (Congrats). It still didn't feel like we were married. A few days later we got dressed up, me in my wedding dress and Ahmed in his suit and took photos. I posted the photos up in an album. I took a whole lot more, but the files are too large to post up here, but at least you get the idea.
I am married now 2.5 weeks! Now we'll be working on doing all the paperwork to get him here with me. I can't wait to finally share my life with him.

Lots has been going on. It's about a month and half since my last post. I've been so busy with life itself. There have been some changes since my last post concerning our wedding ceremony. Due to some circumstances, our stay is in another city and the wedding will not be in a mosque. My parents and two friends are coming. My parents and I have our airplane tickets. Still have to wait for the two girls to buy theirs. Time is closing in, still waiting for plans to fall thru and for things to happen. My fiance is getting help from cousins to put plans thru. Due to the changes, I am going to wear both outfits on the same day, the ivory dress will be for the ceremony and then after we are married, I will change into the white one. The wedding will be small, he's inviting some family and friends.
There is still so much to do, but for the next two weeks all I can concentrate on is work and myself. I am also planning for January, a pre-wedding party as my friends will not be at the wedding because it is being held out of the country.
I did buy some lace for the material I will be using as a scarf. I have decided to get someone to sew the edges together and add the lace in. I also bought some gifts for my friends coming to the wedding, small candles with matching soaps, scented; fig, orange and spice.
There have been a few changes. I found a blouse that goes really well with the skirt. Since I had bought that cotton-silk white fabric from ebay, I found it to be quite beautiful and have decided to use it as a scarf. I'm thinking of sewing the ends together and either adding some beads or lace. I already have beads I could work with so I have a feeling I will go with that idea. I bought a silver sash to tie around the waist as the blouse has a hoops attached and originally came with a white one, but I thought using a silver one would break it down a bit. My shoes are silver, same pattern as the champagne colored ones for the religious ceremony outfit. My supervisor who has become a close friend of mine, gave me a silver purse, and so I will be using it too. The wedding is going to be in Egypt as that is where he is. I'm here in Canada. This is how small it's going to be; I've only invited 4 friends, one is bringing a friend along. 3 of my friends are from here, one is from there. 2 of my friends are coming with me on the plane. My parents are also coming with us on the plane. I decided not to invite any other family as my aunt, my dad's sister decided to try and stick her nose in my business. I had to tell my dearest cousin, "I think it's better if you don't come." Well anyhow, she may not be able to just for the same reason my sister can't school and exams. Not too many family members even know that I'm engaged or even have been in a relationship of any kind. I had told some cousins and my aunt and uncle knew when they came there to visit the last day I was there. My dark brown hair is getting longer! It is halfway down my back now. It's still growing fast! I"m thinking of having my friend from there, once we're there to take me to a salon and get it trimmed, layered and highlighted with light brown streaks. Anyow, I will keep you updated. Here are pics. Most of the pics of white and silver items are actually taken once with flash to show the sheen and another time without to show what the real color is. You can get the idea of the buttons on the blouse.
